Savannah Reynard, Echoes of Time

Tom moved in front of her, his body close and lingering. He smelled of soap and something else. She closed her eyes and inhaled. He smelled of late nights and bottle feedings. He smelled of anniversary dinners and BBQ’s. He smelled of sweaty passion on summer days, cuddles and coffee on cold winter nights. When she put it all together, the feel of him, the scent of him, he smelled like Tom, he smelled like home.

I wonder what she’s reading…

I wonder what she’s reading…

I wonder what she’s reading…

“When he kisses me, I feel as though no one in the world, no one in the history of kisses, has ever kissed with as much love as we do

“When he kisses me, I feel as
though no one in the world, no one in the history of kisses, has ever kissed
with as much love as we do

“Every so often, the echoes of time dance with the present

“Every so often, the echoes of time dance with the present

“Every so often, the echoes of time dance with the present. On the breath of a butterfly, with the whisper of the wind, time crosses for many reasons, the most meaningful, true love.”Echoes of Time, A Lovely Meal Anthology

Lips press. Tongues explore. Hot breath brings me back to life. Wake me. Wake me. From this dreamless sleep of life. I was nothing. I am something. I am loved by you.

Why Love?

Why do you say the things you do?

Why do you use your words as weapons against me?

Weapons against the one you’re supposed to love?

Why do you pick out all that is wrong?

Why do you give only to take away twice as much?

Why do you treat me this way?

Why do I stay?

Goodbye my love.

Take this gift as the gift of my heart.

Please return to me.

For it is yours for all eternity.

Pay Attention

poetryriot:

She holds beauty not because we bring attention to it, but because her presence calls for attention; she is elegant, exquisite, & ethereal. She is celestial in being: Vibrant with an aura that shines with aesthetics, she is magical. She moves with wonder in every step and sway of her hourglass hips. She is timeless, able to stop time with in the moments that eyes are upon her.She does not ask for your attention; your attention pleads to your rational: it reasons that you must give it to her….But… What compliments are there for a woman who knows she is above the mere words of ordinary men…

Love.

Savor your climb, live in the present of your journey whatever it may be. Because when you finally reach the top, it is the journey that you will reflect upon, the journey that will have made you what you are, the journey that will have taught you the lessons and fed your soul. Feel, experience, be, the journey.

Neil Gaiman

I hope that in this year to come, you make mistakes. Because if you are making mistakes, then you are making new things, trying new things, learning, living, pushing yourself, changing yourself, changing your world. You’re doing things you’ve never done before, and more importantly, you’re Doing Something.

So that’s my wish for you, and all of us, and my wish for myself. Make New Mistakes. Make glorious, amazing mistakes. Make mistakes nobody’s ever made before. Don’t freeze, don’t stop, don’t worry that it isn’t good enough, or it isn’t perfect, whatever it is: art, or love, or work or family or life.

Whatever it is you’re scared of doing, Do it. Make your mistakes, next year and forever.

Two Friends

Just two friends who could be lovers.

A friendly dance.

Their bodies close in.

Their foreheads lean.

Their breaths mingle.

Lips so close, only a whisper away.

Mutual friends stop and stare and wait for the kiss. The kiss that will change it all. The kiss that will begin something new.

The song ends.

The moment is lost.

Just two friends remain.

Not too long ago, a co-worker asked me if there was “a buck” in what I was doing. And what I had been doing was toiling over a manuscript for about a year, sinking in my blood, sweat, and tears. My very soul. My response, “No, I’m doing it for the love of writing…” Sounds kinda corny and cliche’ but for the most part it sums it up, but not entirely. Writing has given me new air, new life, a new existence. Whether it’s the act of creating, the ability to share it or helping others to create it, it’s a new path. A new path with dreams and aspirations, the intangibles that somehow got lost along the way. So, my advice to anyone who reads this. Find it, find your passion, and dream. You won’t regret it, it’s delicious.

You gotta be uncomfortable

You gotta be uncomfortable

You gotta be uncomfortable. There’s no way around it on the journey to success. The only way for growth is being uncomfortable. Being uncomfortable is just part of the process! Keep Going. #ForeignAllegiance #ComfortZone #Greatness #Process #Dream Inspire #Dream #Believe #Achieve #Success

Bohumil Hrabal, Too Loud a Solitude  (via )

Because when I read, I don’t really read; I pop a beautiful sentence into my mouth and suck it like a fruit drop, or I sip it like a liqueur until the thought dissolves in me like alcohol, infusing brain and heart and coursing on through the veins to the root of each blood vessel.

Sometimes, it takes practice stepping out of our comfort zone, putting your words out there for all to see and criticize and judge. If you find that hard, take baby steps. There are lots of ways you can start to share your words with the world. Maybe you want to post a few pictures and blog about it. Maybe you want to write some poetry and put that out there. Maybe you want to share some book reviews. When you start to put your words, your comments, your opinions out there, it can make you feel raw and vulnerable because no one wants to make a silly mistake or look stupid, but you’ve got to try. You’ve got to start somewhere. Be brave and start small.
